Funding Box: The Latest Startup Funding Data (April 28)

The site provides information on venture capital/private equity and startup fundings. Here's a list of top startup funding stories.

Predixion Software, a California-based developer of cloud-based predictive analytics software, has raised its Series D funding round. Software AG led the funding round with participation from GE software Ventures and other unnamed financial investors. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.

CompareAsiaGroup, a HongKong-based financial comparison platform, has raised $40 million in Series A funding round led by Goldman Sachs Investment Partners with participation from Mark Pincus, Owen Van Natta, Nova Founders Capital, Jardine Pacific, Ace & Company and Route 66 Ventures. 

Neuronetics, Inc., a Pennsylvania-based provider of Transcranial magnetic stimulation technology, has raised $34 million in Series F financing led by GE Ventures and with participation from original investors.

Sumoware, a Finland-based cloud-apps developer, has secured a funding of undisclosed amount from Vendep Startup Fund 

TPG Growth, a San Francisco-based middle market and growth equity pension funds, has closed its latest fund at $3 billion. The company has a diverse investor base consisting of public and private pension funds, insurance companies, foundations and individuals.

Toronto-based Whitecap Venture Partners has launched its third venture capital fund at $70 million.LPs in the new venture capital fund include Kensington Venture Fund, Bank of Montreal and several high net-worth individuals. Whitecap Venture Partners is a diversified early stage venture capital fund focused on ICT, Med technology and Food technology sectors.

Montreal-based Immunio, a web security startup, has raised $2.7 million in seed funding. Investors include Hoxton Ventures, Real Ventures and Bloomberg Beta.

HomeSlice App, a California-based startup that enables its users to build their own private social networks to manage their households, has raised its first round of funding. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Paris-based PEP-Therapy, a biotech company developing targeted therapies for cancer treatments, has raised €1.3m in funding. Investors included the Quadrivium 1 seed fund managed by Seventure Partners,  and Dr Bernard Majoie, former Chairman and CEO of Laboratoires Fournier and Founding Chairman of Foundation Fournier-Majoie pour l’Innovation (FFMI). former Chairman and CEO of Laboratoires Fournier and Founding Chairman of Foundation Fournier-Majoie pour l’Innovation (FFMI).

Toronto-based SensorSuite Inc., an Internet of Things startup, has closed a funding round of undisclosed amount. Investors include Extreme Ventures Partners, BDC Capital and private angels.

Scanadu, the California-based company behind the medical tricorder device that broke crowdfunding records, has raised a $35 million round of venture funding.  Investors include Fosun International, Tencent Holdings Limited, with participation from China Broadband capital and Iglobe Partners of Singapore. Original investors Relay Ventures, Redmile Group, Ame Cloud Ventures and Three Leaf Ventures also participated in the funding round.

Norway-based Unacast, which help retailers and brands retarget their own customer online based on accurate offline behavior from proximity technologies like beacons, has raised $1.6 million in seed funding round. Backers included Trolltech founders Haavard Nord and Eirik Chambe-Eng, New Mark Invest, Ice Leopard Invest and Blystad Invest.

Berlin-based smava, a loan platform, has raised $16 million in funding round led by Phenomen Ventures, with participation from existing investors Earlybird Ventures and Neuhaus Partners.

Westwing Group GmBH, a Munich-based e-commerce company for Home & living, has raised €30m in venture capital funding led by Investment AB Kinnevik, with some participation from existing and new investors.

San Francisco-based Chariot, a startup that offers 14-passenger vans to commute daily, has raised $3 million in funding round. Investors include Softtech VC, Maven Ventures and Haystack.
