Funding Box: The Latest Startup Funding News

The Funding Box provides information on venture capital/private equity and startup funding. Here's a list of top startup funding stories.

YCharts, a Chicago and NYC-based of financial research solutions, has raised an approximately $6 million in series C funding round. Morningstar led this round with participation from Reed Elsevier, I2A, Amicus Capital Partners, Hyde Park Angels and other individual investors, The company, which has raised  $14.5 million in total funding, plans to use the funds to accelerate growth of its sale team. YCharts offers a financial research tools including stock charts, stock ratings and economic indicators. YCharts has strategic partnerships with Schwab, TD Ameritrade, Commonwealth, and many more.

Abcodia, a London-based developer of a sensitive and specific ovarian cancer screening test, has raised £5.25 million in funding round. Cambridge Innovation Capital and Scottish Equity Partners led this round, with participation from existing investors Albion Ventures and UCL Business. The company plans to use the funds too build operations and commercials team in UK and establish a footprint in US market. Abcodia develops test for the early detection of cancer.

Drizly, a Boston, MA-based e commerce platform, has raised $13 million in Series A funding round. Investors included Polaris Partners, First Beverage Group and existing investors. The new funds will be used to continue product development, enhance sales and marketing capabilities, and expand operations and global distributions. Drizly legally connects alcohol supply and demand for the system, it offers an API, allowing ecommerce opportunities in alcohol for publishers, social networks and recommendation platforms.

ScaleFT, a San Francisco-based DevOps startup, has raised $800,000 seed funding round. Investors included Rackspace and angel investor Alex Polvi. ScaleFT offers a Cloud-Native Administration and Security Platform for engineering teams, the company's platform address the complexities of authentication in today's cloud computing.

Cyber adAPT, an Half Moon Bay, CA-based real-time network-based threat detection platform, has raised $4.1 million in Series A funding round. Investors included Alvin Fund, Granite Point capital Partners, Griffin Fund II, and Fundamental Capital Management LLC. Cyber adAPT provides a real-time network-based threat detection platform, which exposes the presence of sophisticated cyber threats hiding inside corporate networks providing greater visibility around critical IT infrastructures and revealing blind spots within the networks.
