Dematic Acquires Software Provider Reddwerks

Dematic, a leading global supplier of automated technology, software and services to optimize the supply chain, has acquired Reddwerks Corporation, a leading provider of Warehouse Execution Software (WES) that provides companies with real-time decision engines to optimize material and information flow in the supply chain. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The deal, which is subject to shareholder’s approval and customary closing conditions, will strengthen Dematic’s software portfolio and deliver additional value to its customers.

Ulf Henriksson, President and CEO Demati, said in a statement: “The global supply chain needs to be flexible, responsive and agile, empowered to deliver goods to consumers on demand. Retailers and manufacturers need to be positioned to respond to this dynamic demand. The only way to effectively achieve responsive order fulfilment is through an automated supply chain, powered by comprehensive real-time software. Traditional batch processing cannot sufficiently respond to either the operational variability or the speed required.” Henriksson added, “The union of Dematic and Reddwerks will enable customers to accommodate ever-changing business requirements by enhancing automation technologies with ‘On Demand’ software solutions that dynamically optimize warehouse and distribution functions.”

Alex Ramirez, CEO Reddwerks, said in a statement: “Dematic is the industry leader in software and automation technologies for modern ecommerce, apparel, retail, and general merchandise supply chains. We are excited about the prospect of integrating our platform and our operational research-driven approach into Dematic offerings and delivering value to customers globally.”

Based in Austin, Texas, Reddwerks provides solutions for seamless order fulfilment that help drive customer return on assets. Reddwerks offers innovation, analysis and software solutions that result in demonstrable value to both new and existing supply chain facilities.
As part of the transaction, Reddwerks will operate as a subsidiary of Dematic under the trade name Dematic Reddwerks and will continue to deliver the highest levels of quality solutions and services to Dematic and Dematic Reddwerks customers.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Dematic is global leader providing a comprehensive range of intelligent intralogistics and materials handling solutions. With a global knowledge network of more than 5,000 skilled logistics professional and engineering and manufacturing facilities located across the globe, Dematic is able to provide its customers with a unique perspective in world class materials handling solution design.
