Axway Acquires Leading Mobile Engaging Platform Appcelerator

Axway has acquired US-based Appcelerator Inc., a leading mobile engagement platform. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal expands Axway’s suite of digital business enablement solutions and help its customers succeed achieve success at every step in their digital transformation journey. 

Founded in 2006 and based in San Jose, California, Appcelerator is a privately-held mobile technology company that serves organizations across a wide range of industries namely: retail, financial services, healthcare and government. The company’s main product, the Appcelerator Platform is a mobile engagement platform that provides cross-paltform native mobile app development using Javascript, mobile backend as a service (MBaaS), mobile test automation, crash detection and performance management and mobile analytics. The platform handles over 2 billion cloud API calls per month and powers mobile apps on over 350 million devices. Before its acquisition, the firm has managed to raise more than $90 million in venture capital financing.
